Services Summary

Planning and Detailed Design Phases

  • PRINCE 2 Project Management Process including: Assistance with the preparation of Project Initiation Documents (Project Risk Management Strategy, Preparation of the Capital Works Risk Register, Quality Management Strategy, Communication Management Strategy, Business Case, Project Plan).
  • Advise Clients on their obligations under CDM 2015.
  • Preparation of Consultant’s scope of services e.g. Architect, Structural Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Quantity Surveyors.
  • Organise various surveys including: Topographical, Asbestos, Building surveys, Geotechnical Surveys.
  • Review of Consultant’s tenders to ensure full scope of services is covered and negotiate their fees.
  • Management of consultants to ensure that all design work is coordinated and completed to required timescales including: organising, chairing and recording actions from meetings and follow up to ensure actions completed, produce Project Action Plans and Project Timelines to track project.
  • Negotiation with Local Authorities, Building Control, The Environment Agency, Network Rail, Transport for London.
  • Negotiation with Utility Companies regarding diversions and new supplies.

Tender and Construction Phases

  • Selection of Construction Contractors to Tenders for Building and Civils Contracts.
  • Assistance with and review of Tender Packs and Tender issue to Construction Contractors.
  • Review of returned Construction Contract Tenders and Negotiation of price with Construction Contractors.
  • Contract Administration of Engineering and Construction Contracts – Act as Project Manager under the Contract.
  • Management of construction site works to ensure that the project is progressing to contract price and programme, management of the interface between Clients, Designers and Contractors to ensure issues are resolved efficiently, production of either daily site diary or site progress report depending contract set up and location.
  • Management of handover of project and snagging.

In addition, for Highway Projects:

  • Project management of Highway Scheme Designs including: checking and approving Highway Designs for issue, negotiation of Technical Approval with Local Authorities, pursuing Legal Agreements (S278 and S38).
  • Safety Audit and Designers Response review.
  • Review of: Flood Risk Assessments, Travel Plans and Construction Environmental Management Plans, Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans.
  • Site supervision of Highway Works.
